    Temporary full-time up until June 2018 

    We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Children and Parenting Program Coordinator to join our passionate Children’s Services team.

    In this role you will manage the development, coordination, implementation and evaluation of the Children and Parenting Program Project, including providing family support. As part of this position, you will also develop and implement strategies for early childhood professionals to increase their capacity to support children living in vulnerable circumstances. 

    This opportunity is temporary for a period up to end of June 2018 (with the possibility of extension beyond this) and is full-time however, part-time arrangements may be taken into consideration for the right applicant.     Essential Criteria:

    • Tertiary qualification in Welfare, Community Development, Community Services or related field (or working towards the qualification).
    • Demonstrated experience in working with evidence based methodologies
    • Demonstrated experience in working with vulnerable families in a contemporary context
    • Proven written and verbal communication skills including IT skills
    • Demonstrated understanding and commitment to EEO and Inclusive Practices
    • Knowledge of Keep Them Safe legislation
    • A current Class C Driver Licence

    Desirable Criteria:

    • Current First Aid Certificate
    • Demonstrated experience in community research and development
    • Demonstrated experience working in Early Childhood and/or Welfare experience

The Council Customer Service Office and Library on Queen Street, St Marys remains closed due to flooding.

Repairs are underway and we expect the site to reopen on Monday 29 January.

The Civic Centre and Library at Penrith are open as normal and extended hours at the St Clair Library branch are also continuing. We apologise for any inconvenience.
