    Penrith City Council is the largest local government child care service provider in NSW, with more than 25 child care facilities annually catering for 4000 children. Committed to providing Children's Services programs for the benefit of families and children across the City, we offer a variety of child care services including Long Day Care, Vacation and Out of School Hours Care, Preschools and a Mobile Playvan and are at the leading edge of implementing curriculum for the intellectual, social and physical development of the children within our care.

    Following a funding grant, Council is seeking two experienced and enthusiastic Engagement Officer’s to implement a program focused on building a community of resilient engaged youth that mentors and supports vulnerable children in OOSH service ages 5-12 years.

    Council is seeking applicants who will be available to work 3 hours per day, Monday to Friday. Additional hours may be available during school holidays, subject to funding availability. This is an opportunity which will enable the successful applicants to manage life/study commitments whilst providing valuable support to our educators at a number of centres.

    Essential Criteria

    • Completed or nearly completed qualification in social sciences or related field
    • An understanding and/or experience in the planning, development and coordination of youth programs and activities
    • An understanding of the needs of young people
    • Ability to work collaboratively with teams as well as work independently
    • Ability to engage with families and young people

    Desirable Criteria

    • Current Driver Licence

    This position has been identified as a Child-Related position under Child Protection laws in NSW. To be eligible to apply, you are required to provide Council with a valid Working with Children Check Number.

    Commencing Salary: $28.36 per hour plus 9.5% superannuation
