About the team
Penrith City Council is the largest local government child care service provider in NSW, with more than 34 child care facilities annually catering for 4000 children. Committed to providing Children's Services programs for the benefit of families and children across the City, we offer a variety of child care services including Long Day Care, Vacation and Out of School Hours Care, Preschools and a Mobile Playvan and are at the leading edge of implementing curriculum for the intellectual, social and physical development of the children within our care.
About the role
We are seeking enthusiastic Child Care Assistants to join our dynamic team. Penrith City Council has multiple services throughout the LGA where you will have the opportunity, over time, to experience different services and work with children across ages 0 to 12 years.
In this role you will be able to support our dedicated educational leaders in coordinating activities and programs to create a stimulating learning environment for our developing children. Your exceptional communication and team work skills will enable you to efficiently interact with the children, parents and staff.
This opportunity is for permanent and temporary positions across Penrith City Council's Before and After School Care Services and Long Day Care Centres. You must be available to work between the band widths of 6:00am to 10:00am and 2:00pm to 6:30pm.
To be successful in this role, you must be 18 years or over and have completed a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent.
- Completed a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent qualification
- Understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework
- Experience working with children 0-12 years or working in a Long Day Care Centre and/or Before and After School Care Service
- Proven communication and team skills
- Valid NSW Working with Children Check
- Experience in caring for children with disabilities/additional needs
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Current Asthma and Anaphylaxis Certificate
- Current LR Driver Licence
- Child Protection Certificate (Identify and Respond to Children and Young People at Risk)
Salary Range: $25.26 per hour to $28.96 per hour plus 9.5% Superannuation
