In Engineering Services we partner with staff across our organisation, people in our communities, state and federal agencies, businesses, and interest groups to deliver a range of programs and services to our city, including transportation, drainage, development engineering, and traffic management.
About the role
We currently have the following roles available to join our Engineering Services team:
1 x Permanent Full Time Senior Engineer - Stormwater
1 x Temporary Full Time Senior Engineer - Stormwater for a period of up to 9 months, with the possibility of extension.
In this role you will be responsible for the provision of specialist input and advice into the planning of new stormwater systems, in particular, new urban release areas, catchment investigation and drainage capacity analysis of existing stormwater systems, including input into the review of contemporary issues in stormwater management and floodplain management. To assist in the development of appropriate responses and policies.
Current Class C Driver Licence
Tertiary qualification in civil engineering or related field
Demonstrated understanding of floodplain management and working knowledge of NSW Floodplain Development Manual (2005) and previous manuals
Demonstrated experience in the assessment of drainage design, flood studies and associated documentation as it relates to assessment of development applications
Demonstrated experience in GIS (MapInfo) software interfaced with Flood Models
Demonstrated experience in the use of computer models in hydrologic and hydraulic analysis including stormwater drainage and 1D/2D floodplain models
Demonstrated experience in catchment investigation, drainage capacity analysis, identifying and resolving complex floodplain management and drainage issues
Well-developed verbal and written communication, presentation and negotiation skills
A Leaseback Vehicle is available with available permanent position, however it is not a condition of employment.
