About the role
You will contribute to the activities of an Assessment Unit within the Development Services Department in order to achieve the relevant objectives set down in Council’s Management Plan and meet agreed performance levels and standards of service delivery. The position holder will achieve this by way of the effective and efficient discharge of Council’s statutory land use responsibilities including development assessment and provision of advice to the industry and community in the pre-lodgement phase of development. If you have a Planning Degree working in a DA environment, then this position will suit you.
- A tertiary qualification in Planning or relevant field
- Demonstrated senior experience in the assessment and determination of a wide range of development applications and/or senior experience as a planning professional
- A sound understanding of NSW planning related legislation
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Demonstrated time and project management skills
- Current Class C Driver’s Licence
- Previous experience in a local government environment
- Experience in mentoring
- Demonstrated ability to work with multidisciplinary teams
- Strong IT skills
Commencing salary: $92,366.00 - $106,917.00 per annum, plus 9.5% superannuation
A Leaseback Vehicle is available with this position, however it is not a condition of employment.
