About the Department
Penrith City Council delivers a diverse range of quality services to our 198,000 residents and we pride ourselves on being a leader in sustainable local government and an Employer of Choice. Our workforce consists of approximately 1,200 permanent, temporary and casual staff working in a diverse range of roles including construction and maintenance, recreation, children’s services, legal and governance, engineering, finance, planning and IT.
The People and Culture Development department is committed to delivering professional strategic and operational human resource activities to Council’s staff and management. The WHS and IM team is in an exciting time of transformation in ensuring the safety and wellbeing in the workplace and for the community.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced WHS and IM Support Officer to complement services already offered, and to support our Council Safe, Home Safe, Towards Zero program. Reporting to the WHS Manager, you will support the WHS team in the implementation and management of WHS and IM policies and procedures. Tasks will include incident and/or injury investigations and monitoring of corrective actions; reporting; records management; WHS auditing; and support of project implementation. This is a significant time of growth for the WHS and IM team and your support to the business and WHS team is necessary for success.
- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or other relevant qualification, or working towards such a qualification.
- Previous relevant experience in Work Health and Safety
- Demonstrated administration experience
- Strong MS Office knowledge
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Current Class C Driver's License
- Return to Work Coordinator qualifications, or working towards such a qualification
- Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment
Commencing Salary: $71,903.00 per annum, plus 9.5% Superannuation
