About the role
Our Public Spaces Maintenance Department has an exciting opportunity available in the permanent full-time position of Plant Operator – Compactor. You will be primarily responsible for the safe operations of Council’s garbage compactor. Other responsibilities include the disposal of litter at nominated waste facilities, emptying garbage bins located in parks, the collection of litter and liaison with community organisations.
This position will require knowledge and use of Council maintenance tracking system. You may be required to work across any of Council’s Depots. This position operates on a 76-hour fortnight with a Rostered Day Off.
- Current Class MR Driver Licence
- Knowledge of all aspects of operation and maintenance of tipping trucks
- Experience in Parks labouring activities
- Work Safely in the Construction Industry (White) Card
- An ability to complete plant checks, risk assessments and allocated tasks using Council’s CRM Mobility System
Salary: The salary for this position ranges from $58,612 - $67,846 per annum, plus 10.5% Superannuation, and will be negotiated commensurate with the skills, qualifications and experience of the preferred applicant.
This position requires the worker to be double vaccinated against COVID-19 or to hold a medical contraindication certificate.
