About the role
In this exciting role of Corporate Planning and Performance Officer, you will contribute to how the organisation plans and strategizes for success – in the case of local government, this means achieving great outcomes for our community.
As a vital member of the Corporate Strategy, Planning, and Performance team, you'll play a crucial role in supporting the Corporate Planning and Performance Lead and the Senior Corporate Planning and Performance Officer. With a focus on corporate and business planning, performance measurement and organisational reporting, you’ll also contribute to the preparation of Council's Integrated Planning and Reporting (IP&R) documents in accordance with the Local Government Act. As part of the Business Transformation department, you will also get the opportunity to be involved in some other exciting initiatives, projects and workshops.

The Business Transformation (BT) department is within the Corporate Services directorate and includes the following critical functions: Corporate Strategy, Planning & Performance, Business Systems, Project Management Office (PMO) and Business Improvement (BI).
The key drivers for BT include the delivery of strategic direction and performance measurement through the Integrated Planning and Reporting (IP&R) Framework, optimisation of business portfolio investment, leading and mobilisation of continuous improvement, and uplifting organisational Business Transformation capability.
Essential Criteria
- Tertiary qualification in Local Government, Business, Public Administration, Organisational Development, Communications, Planning or relevant experience.
- Experience in collecting, interpreting and collating data.
- An understanding of organisational performance measures.
- Experience producing content suited to a range of formats and audiences, including online and accessibility requirements.
- Demonstrated negotiation and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Experience meeting deadlines and managing multiple tasks.
Desirable Criteria
- Previous experience working in local government and/or an understanding of relevant local government legislation and policy, including Integrated Planning and Reporting.
- Knowledge of community engagement and participation techniques.
- Presentation and facilitation skills.
- Excel and Power Bi skills.
Commencing salary: From $88,919.00 - $102,926.00 per annum, plus 10.5% Superannuation.
This position requires the worker to be double vaccinated against COVID-19 or to hold a medical contraindication certificate.
