About the role
Penrith City Council is seeking a skilled Procurement Business Partner to join our Financial Services team for a temporary appointment up until 30 June 2026. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the procurement operations of the Council, ensuring effective and efficient procurement processes.
Procurement supports a wide variety of stakeholders ranging from ICT to major constructions. You are involved in and contribute to projects that deliver great outcomes for the community. Tasked with supporting stakeholders through the Procurement Process from sourcing through to contract management you will provide expert advice and support to stakeholders and ensuring compliance to procurement policies and procedures while ensuring governance and probity over all processes.

Essential criteria
- Completed a tertiary qualification in Supply Chain, Procurement, or related field (i.e. Certificate, Diploma, Degree) and/or relevant industry experience.
- Demonstrated experience in a medium to large organisation in either contract administration, supply chain logistics, project management, purchasing and or procurement.
- Demonstrated experience working within a fast-paced environment utilising outstanding time management and personal organisational skills.
- Demonstrated passion for excellence in customer service with strong written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated strong attention to detail and sense of professional responsibility.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and financial management systems, such as SAP or Finance 1.
- Sound problem solving and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to corporate values of Penrith City Council
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of Contract Law
- Excel analytical skills.
- Current Class C Driver’s Licence
Commencing salary: $92,765.00 per annum, plus 12.5% Superannuation.
You will be required to undertake employment checks, which may include a Criminal History Check, Qualification Check, Working with Children Check, Medical Declaration and/or a Functional Test, as relevant to the position for which you have applied. Where a Criminal History Check is required and has returned a result that indicates disclosable court outcomes, you will be required to provide a copy of the report to Penrith City Council, for review, in order to progress through the recruitment process.
