Here’s what you’ll be up to…
As a Field Operator Driver, you will play an important role within our operational crews. Reporting to your Team Leader and Field Coordinator, you will be responsible for the safe driving of our Civil trucks, carrying materials, equipment and your team mates to and from work sites on a permanent full time basis.
A crucial part of this role is ensuring all vehicle pre start checks are carried out, the vehicles are kept clean and tidy and in a safe working condition. Working across various civil teams, ensuring safe and efficient delivery of materials and/or towing other plant, you will be a vital part of our operational network.
You will have a positive attitude, with a can-do adaptive approach, ready to have a lasting impact on our local community.
On your 9 day fortnight, you could be towing an excavator one day, helping fix our roads and foot paths the next, to even being a part of the team who keeps our drainage network running! The options for cross skilling and career growth at Council are plentiful for the right candidate.

What are we looking for?
We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Plant Operator - Driver in our Civil Operations team.
You will be responsible for undertaking all duties associated with the safe operation of Council's vehicles and the transportation of staff members, equipment and materials. This role also performs general labouring duties as required.
- Minimum MR License, with a Civil background
- Work Safely in the Construction Industry (White) Card
- Current Traffic Control Card
- Ability to adapt to various work environments- No two days are the same here?

The must-know bits
You will be required to undertake employment checks, which may include a Criminal History Check, Qualification Check, Working with Children Check, Medical Declaration and/or a Functional Test, as relevant to the position for which you have applied.
Where a Criminal History Check is required and has returned a result that indicates disclosable court outcomes, you will be required to provide a copy of the report to Penrith City Council, for review, to progress through the recruitment process.
