Penrith City Council is looking for educators to join our before and after school programs - casual, temporary and permanent opportunities exist across our Before & After School Care and Vacation Care programs throughout the Penrith LGA.

Commencing hourly rate: $30.90 - $35.76 + $10 split shift allowance + 12% superannuation + Worker Retention % (hourly rate will be commensurate to completed qualifications)
Here’s what you’ll be up to…
- Create engaging, safe, and inclusive experiences for school-aged children.
- Support life skill development through play, recreation, and structured activities.
- Build positive relationships with families, schools, and colleagues.
- Ensure compliance with safety, health, and wellbeing standards.
Who We’re Looking For
- Experience supervising and/or interacting with children aged 5-12 years old
- Team player, contributing and upholding organisational values
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks to get things done efficiently
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with children, families, and schools
- Creativity and initiative in planning fun, engaging, and safe activities for children
- Flexibility and reliability to work across morning, afternoon, and vacation care shifts
Essential Requirements
- NSW Working With Children Check (paid/employee).
- Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma & Anaphylaxis training (HLTAID012 or equivalent, or willingness to obtain).
- Commitment to Child Safe Standards and the National Quality Framework.
Qualification Requirements (Preferred but not essential)
- qualifications in School Aged education and Care or ACECQA-recognised equivalent (or working towards) commencing hourly rate will be commensurate to completed qualifications

This position has been identified as a Child-Related position under Child Protection laws in NSW. To be eligible to apply, you are required to provide Council with a valid Working with Children Check Number.

You will be required to undertake employment checks, which may include a Criminal History Check, Qualification Check, Working with Children Check, Medical Declaration and/or a Functional Test, as relevant to the position for which you have applied. Where a Criminal History Check is required and has returned a result that indicates disclosable court outcomes, you will be required to provide a copy of the report to Penrith City Council, for review, in order to progress through the recruitment process.
