About the role
An opportunity exists for a Community Facilities and Recreation Operations Officer within the Community Facilities and Recreation department, temporary up to 30 June 2026.
This position plays a key operational and customer service role in supporting the management and activation of Council’s community and recreation facilities. The successful applicant will lead the coordination of facility operations, contractor and supplier management, and ensure venues are safe, well-presented, and ready for diverse community use.
Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing facility readiness and operational compliance
- Managing contracts and supplier performance
- Supervising staff and contributing to team development
- Supporting financial and administrative processes
- Delivering high-quality customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
Essential criteria
- Tertiary qualifications in facility management/operations and/or extensive experience in community facility and recreation management/operations.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver quality service and facility operation outcomes.
- Knowledge and experience in developing and implementing contracts and occupancy agreements.
- Significant experience in ensuring regulatory compliance in facility operations and a strong commitment to a safe and healthy workplace.
- Class C drivers licence
Salary: The salary for this position ranges from $92,765 - $107,380 per annum, plus 12% Superannuation, and will be negotiated commensurate with the skills, qualifications and experience of the preferred applicant.
You will be required to undertake employment checks, which may include a Criminal History Check, Qualification Check, Working with Children Check, Medical Declaration and/or a Functional Test, as relevant to the position for which you have applied. Where a Criminal History Check is required and has returned a result that indicates disclosable court outcomes, you will be required to provide a copy of the report to Penrith City Council, for review, in order to progress through the recruitment process.
