Information and Communications Technology (ICT) is responsible for the provision of ICT services across the organisation through business solutions, infrastructure/systems integration, spatial information systems, project management, internal ICT customer service and strategy delivery.

About the role
Are you looking for an opportunity to kick-start your career in Information Technology?
Penrith City Council is looking to employ a committed, enthusiastic and passionate individual to undertake a 2 year traineeship in the ICT department commencing. Your positive attitude, willingness to learn and strong customer focus will be highly valued in this fast paced dynamic team.
During this traineeship, you will have the opportunity to combine study with on-the-job training and earn while you learn! You will complete a Certificate III in Information Technology whilst gaining valuable information and industry experience in a supportive environment.

Essential Criteria
- Ability to demonstrate a keen interest in Information and Communications Technology
- Ability to commit to the completion of required study (including attending TAFE, independent study and submission of coursework) and work at the same time
- Ability to take on tasks as directed by supervisors
- Ability to work without direct supervision
- Demonstrated experience in being proactive and taking initiative in the workplace
- High level written and verbal communication skills
- Basic computer and clerical skills such as Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
- Current Class C Driver Licence
To be eligible to apply for this position, you must:
- Not hold a qualification in the related field of Information and Communications Technology.
- Must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident.

Salary: Starting from $827.40 per week, plus 12% Superannuation.
