Asset Management is responsible for the centralised planning of Council’s Civil and Parks Asset Management programs, Security and Emergency Management functions, and oversees the majority of Council’s assets including buildings, active and passive open space areas (including sporting fields, playgrounds, parks), roads, bridges, footpaths and drainage.
This position’s focus is as the leading role across all asset categories. This role provides support to the City Assets Manager in establishing a high performance organisation through the development of its people and processes to meet the vision and objectives of the Penrith City Community Strategic Plan.
This role will develop and implement consultative processes for the creation and maintenance of asset management strategies and plans for all community infrastructure such as roads, drainage, buildings, public art and open space, within the Local Government Area.
You will lead a team engaging with client departments to undertake the investigation, analysis, planning and identification of operational and capital works for the long term financial sustainability of Council's public infrastructure, based on a whole of life analysis, including the identification and prioritisation for the renewal of existing assets and the upgrade or expansion of new assets in line with community expectations.
- Tertiary qualification in Asset Management, Business, or related discipline
- Demonstrated experience in Strategic Asset Management
- Demonstrated expertise in stakeholder consultation and engagement processes
- Demonstrated communication and negotiation skills
- Demonstrated organisational and time management skills.
- Current Class C Driver licence
- Previous Local Government experience
- Substantial relevant work experience in Strategic Asset Management Planning, Business Planning or other related field.
A Leaseback Vehicle or Allowance is available with this position, however it is not a condition of employment.
