About the role
Permanent full-time opportunity available in the position of Field Operator – Mechanical Sweeper Operator. Our Mechanical Sweeper Operators play an important role within the Public Spaces Maintenance team and will perform all duties associated with the safe operations of Council’s Road Sweeper.
You will be responsible for planning, prioritising and coordinating your own workload as directed. This position will require knowledge and use of Council’s Mobility system. You may be required to work from any Council’s Depot locations.
This position operates on a 76-hour fortnight with a Rostered Day Off once a fortnight. Hours for this position will 6:30am - 3:30pm.
Essential criteria
- Current class MR Driver licence
- Knowledge of all operational and maintenance aspects of tipping trucks and trailers including loading, unloading and securing
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with team members and the public
- Demonstrated ability to work within timeframes and achieve established performance standards
- Work Safely in the Construction Industry (White) Card
- Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised and complete plant checks, risk assessments and allocated tasks using Council’s CRM and maintenance tracking system (Mobility).
Desirable criteria
- Tertiary qualification in civil maintenance, cleaning operations or related area
- Demonstrated experience operating Road Sweepers
- Current Traffic Control Blue Ticket
Commencing salary: $67,619.00 - $78,273.00 per annum, plus 11.5% superannuation and an Adverse Working Conditions Allowance in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award.
