About the Role:
As a Speech Therapist, you will play a vital role in improving the lives of our children by assessing, planning, and implementing effective speech therapy interventions. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop customised treatment plans that address the unique needs of everyone. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse populations and make a positive impact on a global scale.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessing & Diagnosing: Conduct evaluations to identify speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders.
- Treatment Planning: Design personalised therapy plans, set realistic goals, and track progress to ensure positive outcomes.
- Therapeutic Intervention: Utilize evidence-based techniques to enhance communication, swallowing, and overall speech abilities.
- Family Support: Provide counseling and guidance to children and their families, empowering them with tools for ongoing success.
- Record Keeping: Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of assessments, treatment plans, and progress reports.
- Collaborative Care: Work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic care for every child.
- Ongoing Learning: Stay updated with the latest research and best practices, participating in regular professional development opportunities.
- Compliance & Regulations: Follow ethical standards and regulatory requirements to ensure safe and effective practice.
- Community Engagement: Educate and engage with the community to promote awareness and the importance of speech therapy.
What We’re Looking For:
Essential criteria
- Bachelor of Applied Science –Speech Pathology or equivalent
- Current membership with Speech Pathology Australia (SPA)
- Experience in administering formal & standardised assessments.
- Experience in setting goals and implementing sound evidence-based therapy techniques across a diverse range of disorders.
- Experience developing and implementing individual intervention programs with families and other professionals using a family centred approach.
- Certified Practising status
- Current Driver's Licence
- Working with Children Check
- NDIS Worker Screening check or willing to obtain
- Available to work full-time, 35 hours per week, from Monday to Saturday. Saturday shifts will be required only when needed and will be compensated at penalty rates
Desirable criteria
- Accredited short courses /Certification to run Hanen programs or other relevant courses for children, parents, or educators.
- Medicare provider number
- Current First Aid certificate
- Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment and Training
- Eligibility to obtain a Medicare provider number.

Commencing salary: $100,424.00 - $116,244.00 per annum plus 11% superannuation.
