About the role
This role is part-time at 7 hours per week and will include split shifts.
The Assistant Coach will assist in developing and administering and effective Squad Program for the lower-level competitive squads. The position works closely with the Head Coach, and the Aquatics team.
About you
You enjoy swimming, love working with children through to adult athletes and want to teach the skills and attributes of competitive swimming and water safety to others.
The successful applicant will demonstrate the ability to communicate, interact and build effective relationships with both internal and external parties that have an invested interest in the program. The applicant will demonstrate the ability to work effectively both independently and as a strong and valuable part of the Aquatics team.

Essential criteria
- Hold or working towards a current certificate in Development (Bronze) coaching qualification through Australian Swimming
- Current First Aid Certificate & CPR Certificate
- A valid NSW Working with Children Check
- Sound knowledge of competitive swimming squad’s environment.
- Knowledge of club and team administrative duties
Desirable criteria
- Swimming Australia Safe Sport course
- Sport Integrity Australia Anti-Doping Fundamentals Course
- Advanced (Silver) coaching qualification
- Experience developing strong relationships and working with both internal & external stakeholders in international swimming
Commencing Salary; $30.00 per hour, plus 11.5% superannuation.
This position has been identified as a Child-Related position under Child Protection laws in NSW. To be eligible to apply, you are required to provide Council with a valid Working with Children Check Number.
