About the role
As our Visitor Economy Partnership Officer, you’ll be at the heart of Penrith’s transformation into a thriving tourism destination. You’ll forge strong relationships with tourism operators, event organisers, state agencies, and industry partners to deliver the actions outlined in our Visitor Economy Strategy (VES).
Your work will include:
- Attracting major leisure and business events that showcase Penrith’s strengths and drive visitation.
- Managing sponsorships and partnerships, from identifying opportunities through to delivering benefits and outcomes.
- Processing and managing filming applications and approvals, balancing creative opportunities with operational and community needs.
- Connecting local tourism operators to programs and initiatives that build their capability ahead of the new airport opening.
- Creating engaging tourism content for channels such as the Penrith Visitor Guide, our tourism website, and social media platforms.
- Analysing tourism data to uncover insights and guide strategic growth across the region.

Essential criteria
- A tertiary qualification in Marketing, Tourism, Economic Development, or a related field
- Experience in researching, organising, and sharing information
- Skills in digital content creation and campaign scheduling
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships
- Skilled in managing projects and approval processes effectively
- Ability to work independently and confidently
Desirable criteria
- A current Class C Driver’s Licence
- Knowledge of Local Government operations
- Familiarity with the Australian tourism industry
Commencing salary: $92,765.00 per annum plus 12% Superannuation.
Salary: The salary for this position ranges from $92,765.00 - $107,380.00, plus 12% Superannuation, and will be negotiated commensurate with the skills, qualifications and experience of the preferred applicant.
You will be required to undertake employment checks, which may include a Criminal History Check, Qualification Check, Working with Children Check, Medical Declaration and/or a Functional Test, as relevant to the position for which you have applied. Where a Criminal History Check is required and has returned a result that indicates disclosable court outcomes, you will be required to provide a copy of the report to Penrith City Council, for review, in order to progress through the recruitment process.
