• Commencing Salary: $107,058 with performance progression up to $123,924 + 12% Superannuation.

Here’s what you’ll be up to…
City Planning has an extensive and exciting work program and we are after a Senior Planner to contribute to, and assist with, the delivery of the significant growth happening in Penrith. As a Senior Planner, you will contribute your planning expertise to the City Planning team, with a focus on planning proposals, development contributions, planning agreements, and strategic planning projects.
Working collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders, the Senior Planner helps ensure transparent, evidence-based planning processes and supports the delivery of infrastructure, jobs and housing that align with Council’s long-term vision. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated team player with relevant planning qualifications to join us on a permanent full-time basis.

What are we looking for?
An experienced planner with strategic or statutory experience, well versed in understanding development drivers, with a view to delivery and implementation.
As a Senior Planner in the team, we are looking for someone who has the following skills:
• Tertiary qualifications in urban/town planning or related discipline and/or extensive job-related experience
• Strong policy and statutory planning capability, including experience preparing LEPs, DCPs and Contributions Plans, ideally with experience in greenfield development
• Excellent project management and analytical skills, with an ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and drive outcomes
• Highly developed communication and engagement abilities, including stakeholder negotiation, community engagement and report writing
• Professional leadership and collaboration, contributing positively to team environments, representing Council and working in line with governance, WHS and corporate policies.
The must-know bits
You will be required to undertake employment checks, which may include a Criminal History Check, Qualification Check, Working with Children Check, Medical Declaration and/or a Functional Test, as relevant to the position for which you have applied.
Where a Criminal History Check is required and has returned a result that indicates disclosable court outcomes, you will be required to provide a copy of the report to Penrith City Council, for review, to progress through the recruitment process.
