About the role
We are currently seeking experienced and dedicated individuals in joining our Civil Operations Department in multiple positions of Plant operator – Driver on a permanent full-time and temporary (12 month) basis. The successful candidates will play an important role within our operational crews.
You will be responsible for undertaking all duties associated with the safe operation of Council’s vehicles and the transportation of staff members, equipment and materials. You will also perform general labouring duties when required.
This position does require knowledge and use of Council’s Mobility system. You may be required to work from any of Council’s Depots. This position operates on a 76-hour fortnight with a Rostered Day Off once a fortnight.
Essential criteria
- Current Class MR and/or HR Driver Licence
- Experience in Civil Construction labouring
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Work Safely in the Construction Industry (White) Card
- Current Traffic Controller Card (Blue Ticket) or willingness to obtain
- Knowledge of Work Health and Safety (WHS) work practices
Desirable criteria
- Tertiary qualification in Civil Construction or related area
- Previous experience in Local Government
- Experience in operating plant and equipment
Commencing Salary: $58,612.00 to $67,846.00 per annum, plus 10.5% superannuation and an Adverse Working Conditions Allowance in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award.
This position requires the worker to be double vaccinated against COVID-19 or to hold a medical contraindication certificate.
