About the Department
Penrith City Council is the largest local government Childcare service provider in NSW, with more than 45 Childcare facilities annually catering for 4000 children. Committed to providing Children's Services programs for the benefit of families and children across the City, we offer a variety of Childcare services including Long Day Care, Vacation and Out of School Hours Care, Preschools and a Mobile Playvan and are at the leading edge of implementing curriculum for the intellectual, social and physical development of the children within our care.
About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for an Outdoor Maintenance Operator to join the Children Services Department.
In this position, you will play an important role in maintaining the lawns and gardens of our Child Care Centre’s as well as providing horticultural expertise in response to planting, garden maintenance and the ongoing presentation of our outdoor play spaces.

The criteria to be addressed in your application is below:
- Trade Certificate in Landscaping and Horticulture
- Valid Working with Children Check
- Class C Driver Licence
- First Aid Certificate
- Extensive experience in Lawn and Garden Maintenance
- Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised
- Sound written and verbal communication skills
- Trade Certificate in Carpentry or relevant building trade
- Work Safely in the Construction Industry (Work Cover White Card)
- Basic computer skills
- Knowledge of building maintenance procedures and specifications
Commencing Salary: From $56,333.00 per annum plus 9.5% Superannuation
This position has been identified as a Child-Related position under Child Protection laws in NSW. To be eligible to apply, you are required to provide Council with a valid Working with Children Check Number.
